I Deserve.

There are days and times when it’s difficult to do even the most basic acts of self-care.

We don’t feel in the mood to take that shower, eat that healthy meal, or go to the gym.

We prioritize other things, tell ourselves we’ll do it tomorrow, or worse, tell ourselves we don’t deserve it.

But we do.

In working on healing ourselves, so much of it is the self-talk and the narrative that we’ve written to ourselves.

A large part of healing means challenging the negativity. The thoughts and core beliefs that have followed us since we were young.

There are times when I don’t want to eat healthily. When I don’t want to go to the gym. When I feel myself falling asleep and don’t want to get up to brush my teeth.

So, instead of telling myself, “Skie, go brush your teeth.” I tell myself, “I deserve to have healthy teeth.”

“I deserve a healthy body.”

“I deserve to be clean.”

“I deserve a clean house.”

Just changing the wording alone has been incredibly powerful in getting me to do tasks that I once had to begrudgingly force myself to do.

So, I want you to pick one thing that is a struggle for you, and tell yourself you deserve it.

Because you do.

It’s one thing to say it, but another to believe it. So start with something small. Something that you can believe you deserve. Put that energy out into the universe, and feel the difference when you do something you feel you deserve, as opposed to feeling like you have to.

And maybe it won’t stick all the time, and that’s okay too. You deserve kindness, patience, and compassion.

So Starlight, breathe in, breathe out.

“I deserve this.”

I believe in you.

Shine Bright.
