Frequently Asked Questions

What is your therapeutic approach?

I utilize a person centered and mindfulness foundation. I also pull from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) internal family systems (IFS). Above all I believe the connection between therapist and client is the most healing.

What states are you licensed in?

I am currently only licensed in Virginia (VA) and Colorado (CO) at this time! If you’re not living in Virginia or Colorado, unfortunately I can’t work with you in a therapeutic nature. However, coaching can be worldwide!

What insurances do you take?

I currently take Aetna, Cigna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Virginia, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. I also can take out of network insurance and provide a superbill for you to possibly receive reimbursement from your insurance company. Please make sure you check your out of network benefits with your insurance company for this option!

What type of clients do you work with?

I work with teenagers (13+) and adults. I am open to any population, but am passionate about working with millennial aged BIPOC, the LGBTQIA+ community, and those who have chronic illness.

You’re pretty open for a therapist, why is that?

I don’t believe in being a “blank slate” therapist. This is why I say I’m human first. As anyone else, I have good days and bad! And as a helper, I’m not someone who is just teaching by the book, I’m someone who has lived through certain things and has first hand experience. I also believe in the power of telling one’s story.

Do you do in person therapy?

I do telehealth only. This gives you the option of doing therapy in the comfort of your home.
